For some quick and easy, albeit tedious, bread and butter links:
1- Find niche web directories, that means directories with a focused theme that fits with your site, that has a bit of pr. Check the main category pages, if they have PR, it should be ok, submit to them.

2 - Find a couple of forums in your niche, that have decent front page pr and have a lot of recent posts. Become an active member of these forums, and create a signature link. It is better to find 1 or 2 and add some quality posts regularly, than spam a load of them.

3 Social bookmark your forum posts and the directory pages with your links on. This means they will get indexed more quickly, and gain a bit of extra link juice.

I know some better, faster, more powerful techniques, but I am not telling them to the whole world lest they be abused.
