Im a newbie like yourself, just started SEO like 2 months ago.
I started off with SEO Book firefox add on, then included Seomoz and now just trying out SEO Quake. I use all of them for different things, depending on what exactly your looking for. But I would definitely start with the firefox SEO Book add-on and take it from there..
